I’ll try to make this short and sweet. With not a lot of time between the game weeks, only 11 out of the usual 18 websites have posted predictions (at the time of writing). Continue reading
This is the start of the hectic Holiday season with 6 GW’s over the next 23 days. There are also 5 EPL teams in action midweek (Tuesday & Wednesday) prior to the drawing for the Round of 16 on December 11. Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Tottenham are through to the Round of 16. Continue reading
I had the opportunity to witness the Leicester City v Tottenham Hotspurs match on TV, and wasn’t too impressed with the Spurs effort. It seemed that the team would have preferred to be somewhere else. Maybe they are not too keen on playing mid-week matches. Continue reading
As the finishing touches are being put this post, all matches have been completed. Hopefully, the past week resulted in green arrows for all. The prognosticators could not match the previous weeks’ results with correct win/draw results dropping from the 7-8 level to 5-6 level. You can’t win them all. Continue reading
There were 5 Premier League teams in action midweek, with a record of 3 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss. Check the injury sites to discover if anyone shows up there. And there is always the possibility that a start midweek could lead to a player being missing in action on the weekend. Continue reading
The latest International break has witnessed World Cup Qualifiers and various club friendlies. There were a few injuries reported among them: Butland, Stoke City, with a broken finger; Vertonghen, Spurs, with a possible ankle knock; Jones, United, with a thigh injury and Hazard who reported home to train alone (unreported injury?). There are two UEFA competitions being played prior to GW11, which include 5 EPL teams involved in the Champions League and 2 EPL teams in the Europa Qualifiers. Just when you think that FPL is settling down to normal, something else jumps up to bit you. Rather than looking forward to a regular slate of matches the Carabao Cup slate may throw a spanner into the mix. Tuesday, 24/10, will see 7 EPL teams in action, and 4 more on Wednesday, 25/10. Swansea City and Crystal Palace have been bumped out of the Cup, with 2 of the remaining EPL teams in play for the final 2 spots in the draw to be held on 26/10/17. Continue reading
During this past week, there were 5 EPL teams involved midweek in the Champions League. Just a reminder to check the injury websites for players who suffered a knock, or who may be rested depending on their playing time. Continue reading
The International break has sorted the 9 Group winners headed to Russia. Next up are the 8 teams who placed second and are headed for home and away playoff matches. The draw will be held later today, and the play-off matches played over the period of the 9th to the 14th November. The pairings had not been decided as of the writing of the article.
Hopefully, your fantasy squads have made it through unscathed without major injuries. Those who have opted to use their WC during the break may have been disappointed about the lack of price rises. I count myself in this group. Continue reading
The last weekend was one in which the website prognosticators earned their pay. There were some excellent forecasts by those at the top of the leaderboard, and overall the returns for correct outcomes were at 40% and above. The RMT algorithm seems to be experiencing a roller coaster ride; down one week and up the next. I have faith that the algorithm will work out the kinks and perform up to its’ abilities. Continue reading
I hope everyone enjoyed a weekend accumulating plenty of points and the enjoyment of green arrows. Many complaints appeared on sites regarding low scores recorded by various league leaders. It seems that choosing the right players for fantasy teams is not as easy as these managers make it out to be. This past weekend it appears that a score above the weekly average was a success.
