Liverpool – Sinking Ship or About to Bounce Back?

Liverpool were one of the hottest sides in the front half of the 2016-17 season, but since the turn of the year their form has drastically declined. Premier League draws with Sunderland, Man United and Chelsea, coupled with defeats to Swansea and Hull, have left the Reds outside the top four, and with just three goals in three games. So is now the time to jettison your Liverpool players? Or will things pick up? I want to isolate the main problems Liverpool are having right now and look at if these problems can be addressed over the next few games, in order to make FPL recommendations. Continue reading

Sorting the Score Predictions for EPL GW 23 2017

This past week presented the EFL Cup Finalists, So’ton and Man United, who will play for the trophy on Sunday, February 26. It also whittled down the field for the 5th Round of the FA Cup, other than the Derby County v Leicester City replay on February 8. The draw for the next round is scheduled for Monday, January 30. If Leicester City wins there will be 8 EPL teams in the next round scheduled for the weekend of February 18. Confirmed participants include TOT, ARS, CHE, MUN, BUR, MID and MCI. Continue reading

Manchester United and Southampton are in action today in the Europa League but it is too early to report any results. Monitor the news reports and Manager’s pressers for information on who may have suffered injuries or will be rested this weekend. Continue reading

Tom Heaton – England’s Number One?

Tom Heaton is currently the best goalkeeper on FPL, having racked up fifty points so far this season. Heaton is currently being hailed as one of the top keepers in the division, and his performance at Old Trafford, where United had thirty-seven shots without scoring and Heaton made eleven saves, is being called one of the very best. The brute stats backing up Heaton’s performances so far this season are overwhelming, so I want to just rattle off a few in his defence. Then I will examine the United game to see how far it affects his overall stats. And then I want to look at what I think is a very interesting feature of Heaton’s game, which underlines why he is a top keeper and how he will fare in future weeks as a result of this feature. Does the November curse still haunt Arsenal?

Arsenal looks reasonably well set going into this November, currently second in the Premier League only on goal difference and having not lost since the opening day of the season. But historically, November is a bad month for Arsenal. Over the last decade, they’ve played 40 November league games worth a potential 120 points, yet the Gunners have lost 15 of these games picking up just 59 points.

So will it happen again this year? Continue reading
