We are into the stretch run of the FPL season for the 2017-18 season. For those managers who are still actively involved, it is make or break time. I wonder how many “dead” teams are being carried on the site?
The BGW 35 results are finalized, and the RMT algorithm recorded identical 3/6 correct predictions as far as Winning Teams, Clean Sheets and Teams Scoring 2 or More Goals. The score simulations were much better with 4 correct win/draw results and 1 exact score, placing them among the top sites last week. Continue reading
With the FPL season winding down and my teams’ current standing at the 1.7 million level, it’s time to move on and begin planning for next year. I’m 75 points shy of breaking the 1 million mark and at my current pace there really isn’t much to look forward to. Continue reading
The waiting is over and we are finally ready to go! The new MLS season kicks off on Saturday when the reigning Champions, Toronto FC, welcome Columbus Crew. As always, the first round could be quite unpredictable. Many big players have changed teams and some have left the league altogether for pastures new. Also, many more new players have arrived to confound us – which ones will rise to the occasion and which ones will disappoint? The big learning process begins for us all. Continue reading
Although it was a week without EPL action, the FA Cup, Champions League, and Europa League competitions filled the void. Three different competitions were available to satisfy our football needs.
Two matches in the FA Cup resulted in surprise results. First Tottenham was tied by Rochdale and then the big shocker came when Manchester City was beaten by Wigan. The first piece of hardware falls by the wayside.
I was of the opinion that since the Spurs would be involved in a replay, and the chance that a win would put them into the 6th Round of FA Cup play, that their GW 31 match would be a blank. That is not what the FPL site schedule shows, so someone knows more than I do I suppose. Continue reading
The Fantasy Football GWs’ continue their onslaught. GW 20 is still in progress as I begin this article, and doesn’t finish until 28 December. That leaves only 1 day before GW 21 gets underway on 30 & 31 December. There is no break to prepare for GW 22 which runs from 1 through 4 January 2018. Continue reading
The excellent Fanfeud FPL Show was recorded last night. A short 30 minute episode covering the key questions for tonight’s deadline. Last night they covered all of your listener questions and gave their captain choices for GW14. Continue reading
Bournemouth have had a tough time of it this season, currently languishing at 19th in the table, having scored a measly 6 goals. But things are looking up, as Bournemouth becomes the latest budget squad with 6 ‘easy’ games on the horizon. Continue reading
The penultimate round was an exiting event. Toronto FC equalled the MLS record for most points in a season recorded by LA Galaxy in 1998. Four more teams clinched place for the postseason in the Western Conference. Kaka said goodbye to Orlando. Continue reading
The following information presents an overview of the results of the various prediction sites’ that I monitored this last season. The numbers aren’t a complete representation of what had occurred since I was absent over about a month recovering from open heart surgery. Although I wasn’t around to present weekly summary articles from February to the end of the season in May, I was still able to monitor most sites for a period following my rehab. Continue reading

Finally we entered the real business. Yes, the competition is now on. New England vs Orlando game was postponed due to weather conditions which left us with 10 games. Nevertheless we witnessed 32 goals compared to the 20 in the opening round when we had 11 games. Well done to Wanton and Gallow with 104 points each and GarthButchers with 115. Continue reading
