Aguero, Sanchez, Ibrahimovic and Benteke in Captain Picks for game week 20

Our captaincy article is back to help you choose the right captain for game week 20. This year we are using data from the RMT Adviser’s algorithm and our experience to make our recommendations.

Rate My Team RMT Adviser’s algorithm picks

Sergio Aguero

The first pick from the RMT Adviser’s algorithm this round is Aguero, he returned from suspension in the last gameweek without any success in city’s loss to Liverpool at Anfield. With an average predicted score of 6.6 points this week, Aguero is comfortably the top pick from the RMT Adviser and if you have him in your fpl squads then he is likely to be your first choice captain pick too.

The results of the RMT Adviser’s simulations for Aguero are 1 goal in 35.6%, 2 in 14.8%, 3 in 2.6%. The last time City and Burnley met Aguero found the net on 2 occasions. I wouldn’t want to bet against a repeat of that if I’m being honest and as a non owner I’ll be watching this one nervously and hoping Kun doesn’t do too much damage.

Alexis Sanchez

Another round of games and once again the RMT Adviser’s algorithm likes Sanchez. Just an assist last time out against Crystal Palace for Alexis probably disappointed his owners and those who gave him the armband but Alexis is always dangerous and was a touch unlucky again not to have scored. The RMT Adviser’s algorithm gives Sanchez a projected return of 6.3 points this week with the following goal projections; 1 in 31.2%, 2 in 6.6%, 3 in 1.6%

Sanchez has tended to be stronger in away games this season with the majority of his really big numbers coming in games on the road, the last time Arsenal played Bournemouth Sanchez scored twice so much like Aguero there is a great chance that Alexis will inflict similar damage again this time.

My picks

Zlatan Ibrahimovic

As I continue my whistle stop tour of captaincy choices this week my next stop is with the Manchester United striker. Like Sanchez earlier there was just an assist for Ibrahimovic. Zlatan was unlucky not to have himself on the score sheet again having had a goal very harshly ruled out and saw a couple of good chances well saved by the Middlesbrough keeper.

United and West Ham have met twice already this season and Ibrahimovic has scored 3 times in the 2 games. United come into this game in great form having won 5 league games in a row for the first time in almost 2 years and with Ibrahimovic in the form he is in currently I think it’s reasonable to expect some more attacking returns

Christian Benteke

At home against Swansea. This seems like as much of a licence to print fpl points as you can get these days given the Swans truly awful form both defensively and as a team in general. Bournemouth were the latest recipients in the last game week and walked away from a trip to Swansea 3-0 winners.
Palace and Benteke are not playing brilliantly themselves but this is a fixture they will be hoping/expecting to win. When these sides met last time out it was a crazy game with Swansea pinching a 5-4 win but it’s worth noting that Benteke bagged a goal and assist. The RMT Adviser’s algorithm also fancies Benteke this week giving him and average predicted score of 5.5 points and the following goals projections; 1 in 33.2%, 2 in 9.4% and 3 in 1.6%

I have Tekkers just can’t decide who to captain!

      Valdes
      Ake / Morgan / Rose / Evans
Haz / Sanchez (vc) / Siggy
      Ibra (c) / Origi / Benteke

      Bench: Heaton / Can / Fletcher / Van D

0.2 itb with 1 ft…tempted to stick for now

      Waddya think?

  1. I don’t know to go with Sterling or Lallana
I cannot see Ibra or Sanchez getting that many points away at West Ham and Bournemouth, I think Man U and Arsenal will win, but chances will be slim for a lot of goals.
