It was a busy week with 57 goals including 5 braces and a hatrick. In Gameweek 31 we witnessed the elimination of MTL, NE, PHI and ORL.

Gameweek 32 Preview
NOTE: This is an early article with one game left which will be played in the early hours of Thursday.
This is the penultimate round of the season. Like every year we will be dealing with three groups of teams. The ones which have already qualified for the post season, with many key players rested for it. The teams still in the fight for a place, where all available players should be involved. Last are the sides with nothing to play for and will be trying to build up for the new season. Expect many strange starting lineups.
CHI ( W 15 D 7 L 10 ) vs PHI ( W 10 D 9 L 13 )
With the last draw the Fire missed their chance to get closer to the second spot. This game is still important for them to secure a home game and not to be caught by Columbus. With his last two goals Nikolic is back at the top in the Golden Boot race and will try to remain there.
— Chicago Fire (@ChicagoFire) October 1, 2017
Philly is out of the competition and it’s unlikely to do any damage.
NE ( W 11 D 6 L 15 ) vs NYCFC ( W 18 D 8 L 8 )
The Revs hope for a postseason involvement was extinguished by the Bulls.
The Blues aim is now to hold to that second place and be on bye in the knockout round in postseason. Villa is well in the race for top sorcerer with a goal behind Niko.
NYRB ( W 13 D 7 L 12 ) vs ATL ( W 15 D 8 L 9 )
With the win over VAN the Bulls guaranteed their place in the playoffs. With the remaining two games they can only move a place up. Expect rotations.

The Five Stripes missed a big chance to move second in the Eastern Conference. Their place in the playoffs is guaranteed and the target will be to get into the second place.
ORL ( W 10 D 9 L 13 ) vs CLB ( W 15 D 5 L 12 )
The Lions didn’t do themselves a favour with the last draw at home. They joined the other three teams which were hoping for playoff spot and are now out.
The Crew have booked their place in the playoffs. They still have a chance to go up but that will depend on the performance of the other teams around them.
TOR ( W 19 D 8 L 5 ) vs MTL ( W 11 D 6 L 15 )
The big 401 Derby is back for a third and last time in the regular season. In August TOR won 3-1 as visitors, in September MTL visited TOR and won 5-3. Expect goals.
The Reds are the 2017 Supporters Shield winner and have secured top spot with a home advantage in the playoffs. Defence should be very useful from this team with a big chance for a clean sheet.
— Toronto FC (@torontofc) October 1, 2017
The Falcons are eliminated but you should expect to fight hard in this Canadian derby.
COL ( W 8 D 6 L 18 ) vs RSL ( W 12 D 6 L 14 )
The Rapids are out . They can only spoil the chances for RSL in their qualifying campaign and they can do it as they did with Dallas.
Real must win the last two games if they don’t want their campaign to see the end of this year. Rusnak and Plata are the prime suspects to try and achieve this.
LA ( W 7 D 8 L 17 ) vs MIN ( W 10 D 6 L 16 )
The Galaxy are already eliminated from the race. All they need to do now is to play for pride and try if it’s possible to get out of the bottom.
Minny finished for this season. They will play for pride and will try to make a point how bad the Galaxy was throughout the entire year.
POR ( W 13 D 8 L 11 ) vs DCU ( W 9 D 5 L 18 )
With the lost to SJ the Timbers missed the opportunity to secure the second place in the West. They have the same points with Seattle. This and the next home game might help them to achieve that. Valeri remains the main player for this team and despite his long scoring streak was cut short in the last game he is still in the fight.
The Capital men were eliminated from the race two rounds ago. Expect big home win.
SEA ( W 12 D 11 L 9 ) vs DAL ( W 10 D 13 L 9 )
The same as Portland the Sounders lost in GW 30 and that ruined the plan to get the second place. They too have two home games. Lodeiro will be a popular pick here.
The Texans missed their chance to go up in the table. Now they are in a very dangerous position with RSL and SJ just a point behind trying to steal that spot.
SKC ( W D L ) vs HOU ( W 11 D 10 L 10 )
This will be the return fixture from the last game in round 31. Both teams are in the race. Watch out the performance of the players on Wednesday before making decision.

VAN ( W 15 D 6 L 11 ) vs SJ ( W 12 D 6 L 14 )
The Caps need to win this game if they are to stay in the top two.
The Quakes are still in the race with RSL to get the last playoff spot in the West.
These are the tree top scorers in the race for the Golden Boot
- Nikolic (
- Villa (NYCFC)
- Valeri (POR)
