Help My Team for game week 21

Here to help. Post your team and get good constructive feedback on your selections. We will share our thoughts and concerns to help each other build better teams and hopefully win our respective mini-leagues.

How does it work?

Tell us your first 11, bench, cash in the bank and captain as we’ll take a look. We might tell you there is too much money sitting in the bank. We might question if you have the right striker or goalkeeper. We will point out obvious errors like it is rarely a good idea to have a defender as captain. For sure you will be told about the absence of a ‘star’ player and the captain de-jour.

Option 1: Post your team using the Rate My Team Automated Advisor

The most advanced RMT algorithm on the market today is now in “Release 7 Beta”, meaning it has been updated with the latest functionality to help managers for the full season. Based on published research, and capable of machine learning, our Automated Advisor is a powerful FPL analytics tool. Our Points Prediction engine takes into account new signings, formation changes, manager changes, and many other factors.

However, Fantasy Football First’s uniqueness is that as well as the excellent analytics engine, we have excellent FPL managers who’s opinion you can canvas. Data and experts – a powerful winning combination. Check if your team is ready and import your FPL team. Enter your FPL Team Code and import your team direct from the FPL site!

Option 2: Write your team in a comment

Post the players you select in the formation you want to play them, and separately list your subs., transfers and remaining cash in the bank. For example:

Please rate my team:

Baines, Terry, Azpi
Ozil, Payet, Wanyama, Townsend
Defoe, Lukaku, Kane
Subs: Mignolet, Chadli, Smith and Fosu-M.

Captain: Ozil and Vice is Payet.
Money in the bank: £1.5m
Transfers Mingolet -> Boruk so I have cash to upgrade Terry next week

Link your team

Linking your team means anyone can click on your profile image and see your team. This helps because the reviewer can see your transfer history and get a sense of your overall strategy. After all, we don’t want to suggest a player you have just sold.

To link your team

1. get the url of your team from fantasy.premierleague.com. To do this open the game and click on POINTS. In the “Game Week Points” section you will see “View Gameweek history”. Open the Gameweek history page. Copy this URL.

2. Click “Profile” in the footer of the site. This will open your profile page.

The website field is in yellow on the image above.

3. copy the url into the Website field on your profile page and save.

Can YOU help someone?

You’re more than welcome to join the fun. Helping each other out is what this site is all about. The sharing, the arguing and yes the gloating is all part of the fun. Its not all stats, stats, stats. Just give constructive feedback on the team and your view on the points it will earn, and you are all set.

Keep popping back

As the season progresses we’ll provide all sorts of articles, stats and tables to help everyone to maximise their points potential. We’re also posting updates on who is playing well or playing out of position in the weekly game reviews, thereby giving us all the latest information. The first set of tables are out and will be updated on Thursday. So keep popping back to see the latest player information.

We look forward to reading your teams

      • @SecretZorro* I didn’t see the game, just followed it in a desultory fashion on the beeb, but it didn’t sound like the most vintage performance from Liverpool. At least Coutinho is back.

        • @Kralin As soon as he came on Liverpool started to penetrate the Soton defence, a little. I think it was only after his introduction that they started getting shots on target.
Probably be a different story at Anfield. I still think we’ll be playing your lot in the final. :fingerscrossed:

        • @SecretZorro* Yes, hopefully. After a couple of sluggish performances though (albeit in cup games, which they are not prioritising) Liverpool need to get back in the groove.

      • @SecretZorro* Carragher posted this on twitter : “Last season Klopp couldn’t understand why the semi final was two legs, he’ll be f*****g ecstatic that’s the case tonight!”

    • @anisn i dont know how many free transfers you have so can only suggest long term strategy (4-5 GWs) … i feel you need to swap three players siggy for alli/eriksen, origi for negredo/stuani (depending on what formation you’ll play) and lovren for an arsenal def.
For this GW your team looks good but no spurs cover seems risky.

    • @anisn I have a feeling of déjà vu (boy I wish I could put text into italics here). I think I may already have offered my ha’ penn’orth of advice this week. I’m fearful of doing so again as it will probably contradict what I wrote earlier this week.

But give us a hand – how many transfers and how much money?

  1. as u can see from the pic, i have 1.1 ITB and 0 ft left. what should i do with this team?

Any suggestion regarding the team would be appreciated

      • @hochoki I think there’s no need to do anything more for this GW.

The things that can be improved are Ake (in case that he is not starting but you will have to wait and see), Alonso (if he will lose his starting status), maybe upgrade Amat to a 4.4m defender (e.g Chambers/ Ward), sort the Pickford issue eventually (Mannone/Grant/Hennesey) and maybe upgrade Diomande because of his terrible fixtures after this GW.

But since you have a good starting XI, I wouldn’t take any hits at the moment.

  2. Hey guys,
My WC is active and I’d really appreciate your help on this!
I was thinking Lukaku –> Giroud and Pedro –> Lallana. Thoughts?

      • @SecretZorro* i think with foster mannone or jakupovic is the best option… since foster has good fixtures after this gw he wont need to rotate that much

        • @hochoki Jakupovic is a great price but hasn’t started in the league recently. A risky pick and essentially by picking him you need to accept the risk you may only have one regular starter. Not ideal.

    • @kenmag I agree with SZ re Grant.

I would move Can on for one of the cheap Middlesbrough mids.

Lukaku / Giroud is the toss of a coin. Giroud is in good form but there are question marks about his playing time; Lukaku has good fixtures.

I would have Lallana / Coutinho for Pedro, especially as you have Costa.

      • @Kralin Can –>
De Roon and Pedro –> Lallana is something I can afford. Wish I could afford Coutinho but I can’t!

        Thanks :)

        Any thoughts on the defence?

        • @kenmag It’s a good defence, though you could probably downgrade Chambers to Love (presumably you’re not planning to play Chambers?) to free up some more dosh.

        • @Kralin Why wouldn’t he? On a good fixture, I’m sure Boro can clinch a clean sheet.

          Love will simply not.

        • @Zwischenzug Yes, they could: but I don’t know if Chambers is in the team as a cheap 5th or as a rotation option. If it’s the former, then I don’t see the need to spend any money, just get the cheapest option who plays. Given the other 4 defenders, I imagine (though could be wrong) that they will be the main ones picked, week in week out.

        • @Kralin Chambers is a rotation option for me. I will be playing 4 at the back, Chambers will be one of those 4 if any of the others have difficult fixtures.
I think Chambers is a VFM buy considering Boro have let in just 22 this year.

    • @kenmag Grant instead of Hennessey.

Costa to Ibra, Lukaku to Giroud and Defoe to Rondon. Can to Stanislas.

      Some ideas.

      • @Zwischenzug I haven’t had Costa in my team until now, so I don’t have the heart to remove him. I did have Giroud instead of Lukaku, but I’m not convinced that he’ll get to start consistently.
        Is Stanislas really worth it?

        • @kenmag Ibra has been better the past couple of months and has better fixtures. I had Costa up to now as well but I’m planning to bring him back at a later stage.

Regarding Giroud, I do agree about that. My plan is to have Giroud for the following 1-3 weeks depending on Arsenal’s form and, of course, if he is a starter. If he is not, I will immediately bring Lukaku. If he is a starter, I plan to bring Lukaku in GW24 when Arsenal play Chelsea. If he is on form, I will bench him, let him play the game against Hull and reassess.

Stanislas actually has 3 very promising fixtures and he is a wonderful player for his price. He is also very much value for money. My plan on Stanislas is to assess him during the 3 following weeks and swap him with Redmond or something similar depending on performance.

          Hope that helps.

  3. Bilic: “We have said we don’t want to sell our best players but @dimpayet17 does not want to play for us. We are not going to sell him.

Maybe I should sell him now? Would like to keep him for this week but… :/

  4. Hey guys! Is it too late to WC?

    Pickford – Grant
    Smith – Pieters – Walker – Alonso – Amat
    Allen – Mane – Phillips – Lallana – Erikssen
    Kun – Negredo – Ibra

    1FT and 0.3ITB

    Please help!

    • @D3ViL24 You’ve probably missed the boat this GW but your team’s in ok shape. Mane to Walcott (if fit, I’m not sure) or Alli?

      • @Kralin Thanks mate! I took Sterling in for Mane already though, I was undecided on taking in Alli as I have Erikssen already. Well, I hope it works! :fingerscrossed:
