Help My Team for game week 29

Here to help. Post your team and get good constructive feedback on your selections. We will share our thoughts and concerns to help each other build better teams and hopefully win our respective mini-leagues.

How does it work?

Tell us your first 11, bench, cash in the bank and captain as we’ll take a look. We might tell you there is too much money sitting in the bank. We might question if you have the right striker or goalkeeper. We will point out obvious errors like it is rarely a good idea to have a defender as captain. For sure you will be told about the absence of a ‘star’ player and the captain de-jour.

Option 1: Post your team using the Rate My Team Opti-Bot

The most advanced RMT Optibot on the market today is now in “Release 7 Beta”, meaning it has been updated with the latest functionality to help managers for the full season. Based on published research, and capable of machine learning, our optibot is the most powerful analytics tool currently available to FPL Managers. Our Points Prediction engine takes into account new signings, formation changes, manager changes, and many other factors.

However, Fantasy Football First’s uniqueness is that as well as the excellent analytics engine, we have excellent FPL managers who’s opinion you can canvas. Data and experts – a powerful winning combination. Check if your team is ready and import your FPL team. Enter your FPL Team Code and import your team direct from the FPL site!

Option 2: Write your team in a comment

Post the players you select in the formation you want to play them, and separately list your subs., transfers and remaining cash in the bank. For example:

Please rate my team:

Stekelenburg
Baines, Terry, Azpi
Ozil, Payet, Wanyama, Townsend
Defoe, Lukaku, Kane
Subs: Mignolet, Chadli, Smith and Fosu-M.

Captain: Ozil and Vice is Payet.
Money in the bank: £1.5m
Transfers Mingolet -> Boruk so I have cash to upgrade Terry next week

Link your team

Linking your team means anyone can click on your profile image and see your team. This helps because the reviewer can see your transfer history and get a sense of your overall strategy. After all, we don’t want to suggest a player you have just sold.

To link your team

1. get the url of your team from fantasy.premierleague.com. To do this open the game and click on POINTS. In the “Game Week Points” section you will see “View Gameweek history”. Open the Gameweek history page. Copy this URL.

2. Click “Profile” in the footer of the site. This will open your profile page.

The website field is in yellow on the image above.

3. copy the url into the Website field on your profile page and save.

  1. Please help my team  Got two free transfers this week. I got a lot of money tied up in defence with 5.5 m++ players playing against tough competition. 1.3 in the bank. The plan was to go coutinho to tadic and barnes to gabbiadini, but that is out of the question if Gabbiadini is out. And then I wont trust the rest of Southampton either as they have not performed without him. Cheers for help.

    • @Parnemann

I would wait until after the international break before making any transfers.
I would get rid of Baines for a cheapie. It might sound a bit strange for me to recommend a Middlesbrough defender, but Fabio would be a cheap benchwarmer at 4.4 + they have a DGW34 against Sunderland and Bournemouth.

As to who you replace Barnes with depends on Gabbiadini’s fitness. Llorente would be a decent alternative, as would Andy Carroll – although he has played in 14 of the last 16 games, so must be due another big injury.

As for Coutinho – whilst he hasn’t been performing since his return form injury, Liverpool have agreat run of fixtures beyond Everton next GW, and that 4th Champions League spot is still up for grabs

    • @Parnemann You may want to think about Siggy for one of the Liverpool mids. Kolarov is a lot of money on you bench and could, as OG says, be replaced by a Middlesbrough defender.

The Baines / Coleman double-act is no bad thing, given the form Everton are in.

    • @Eddiebirman

Any money in the bank or free transfers?

You have spent quite a lot of money on your defence, to the detriment of your attacking players. Personally I would swap Baines to a cheapo defender to raise some funds. Maybe Fabio at 4.4M – you would only need him when one of your other defenders doesn’t play.

    • @Eddiebirman Have you been playing a 5-3-2? Presumably yes given the defensive firepower you have lined up there. I’d be (seriously) interested to hear how you’re getting on. I’ve been toying with 4-4-2 this season without taking the leap.

If not then yes, as OG suggests.

    • @Eddiebirman spending a lot on defenders at this time of the season is sensible. But in context that at the start of the season we can afford probably 1 expensive defender and now can afford 3. Therefore, I agree with the goat that you’ve over spent at the back.perhaps downgrade Baines or Coleman and use the money when Zlatan returns.

    • @aag_93

      Is your wildcard active?
West Brom have Man Utd GW30, Liverpool GW33, Chelsea GW37 + a game with Man City to be rearranged. AND they have a blank in GW34, so Phillips is a “must get rid of”.
Unfortunately there isn’t a crock of gold in the 5.5 price bracket. Ward-Prowse is 5.0 – plus side is Southampton will have 2 Double Game weeks at some point. Minus point is that those games are against Arsenal and Man Utd.! In addition, Saints also have to play Man City, Chelsea and Liverpool.

Emre Can could be a nice addition for 4.7. On paper, Liverpool’s toughest fixtures between now and the end of the season are Everton and Southampton.
Not having a DGW is a slight minus, but he is benchable at that price

    • @aag_93 your team is pretty good, however your front line & bench are struggling. You obviously need to look at the DGW. You probably need to wait to see how Gabby & Hazard’s injuries pan out, & see how Sanchez comes through tonight’s international. Deciding on those players, then focus on Philips & Brunt out. Nice & slow or if opportunity arises, don’t be afraid of a hit or two
