Help My Team for game week 38

Here to help. Post your team and get good constructive feedback on your selections. We will share our thoughts and concerns to help each other build better teams and hopefully win our respective mini-leagues.

How does it work?

Tell us your first 11, bench, cash in the bank and captain as we’ll take a look. We might tell you there is too much money sitting in the bank. We might question if you have the right striker or goalkeeper. We will point out obvious errors like it is rarely a good idea to have a defender as captain. For sure you will be told about the absence of a ‘star’ player and the captain de-jour.

Option 1: Post your team using the Rate My Team Adviser’s algorithm

The most advanced RMT Adviser on the market today is now in “Release 7 Beta”, meaning it has been updated with the latest functionality to help managers for the full season. Based on published research, and capable of machine learning, our Automated Adviser is a powerful analytics tool. Our Points Prediction engine takes into account new signings, formation changes, manager changes, and many other factors.

However, Fantasy Football First’s uniqueness is that as well as the excellent analytics engine, we have excellent FPL managers who’s opinion you can canvas. Data and experts – a powerful winning combination. Check if your team is ready and import your FPL team. Enter your FPL Team Code and import your team direct from the FPL site!

Option 2: Write your team in a comment

Post the players you select in the formation you want to play them, and separately list your subs., transfers and remaining cash in the bank. For example:

Please rate my team:

Baines, Gibson, Azpi
Sigy, Sanchez, Wanyama, Fletcher
Defoe, Lukaku, Kane
Subs: Lloris, Chadli, Morgan and Silva.

Captain: Sanchez and Vice is Defoe.
Money in the bank: £1.5m
Transfers Lloris -> Robles so I have cash to upgrade Wanyama next week

Link your team

Linking your team means anyone can click on your profile image and see your team. This helps because the reviewer can see your transfer history and get a sense of your overall strategy. After all, we don’t want to suggest a player you have just sold.

To link your team

1. get the url of your team from fantasy.premierleague.com. To do this open the game and click on POINTS. In the “Game Week Points” section you will see “View Gameweek history”. Open the Gameweek history page. Copy this URL.

2. Click “Profile” in the footer of the site. This will open your profile page.

The website field is in yellow on the image above.

3. copy the url into the Website field on your profile page and save.

Can YOU help someone?

You’re more than welcome to join the fun. Helping each other out is what this site is all about. The sharing, the arguing and yes the gloating is all part of the fun. Its not all stats, stats, stats. Just give constructive feedback on the team and your view on the points it will earn, and you are all set.

Keep popping back

As the season progresses we’ll provide all sorts of articles, stats and tables to help everyone to maximise their points potential. We’re also posting updates on who is playing well or playing out of position in the weekly game reviews, thereby giving us all the latest information. The first set of tables are out and will be updated on Thursday. So keep popping back to see the latest player information.

We look forward to reading your teams

  1. I’m leading by 40 points in my ML. Does it make sense to take a -8 point hit
    Hazard -> Sanchez
    Ali -> Coutinho
    Holgate -> Ake

    • @Zlatan Not for me. I would just stick with the Coutinho move as you already have a strong 3-5-2 line-up. Everton will not give up a load of chances, so unless your closest rival has Sanchez and TC left, I don’t think it’s worth a hit, particularly as I still expect Haz to play against a weak defence.

      • @cdp666 Thanks. And Ali or Eriksen to Coutinho? Would you go for Sturridge or Coutinho?

  2. I should thank everyone here who’s helped me this season, im 81 points ahead overall and probably be a lot less if i hadnt of pestered people here for help.

Ive already done a -4 bringing in Jesus and Coutinho, there are two in my ML joint 2nd, one has a triple captain, i expect him to TC either Kane or Jesus.

Looking at my team, is there any point in going to a -8 to bring someone else in, or making any changes at all? I have 0.1ITB, my team value is awful.

    Thanks again.

    • @mark-bond well done on your great lead. Remember, it is you who has the final say on your team, so the praise is back at ya!

I think if you have such a lead then
      1) if you are chasing overall rank, do nothing more
      2) if you are not chasing rank, have some fun and pick someone left-field like Defoe or a Watford striker – have a laugh with it.

  3. Hi All,

Do you reckon Costa will play this weekend – with this being his supposed last game at Stamford Bridge and against a really broken Sunderland team.

Would like to bring in Sanchez and Courtinho.

    What are you thoughts?
    Alonso, Kompany, Brunt
    Ali(Courtinho), Hazard(Sanchez) King Silva Albrighton
    Costa, Jesus

If i get rid of Costa it would be for Kane.

  4. wow this double week has as been amazing.

    highest score ever!

Thank you Kane, wished i captained you but still thanks!

    And Jesus + Sanchez!!

    172 points :D!

Just one change this week, selling Gab(the only mistake) Southampton dont score..

    • @joaomonteiro
Have the exact same problem. Only difference is I also have Holding as well which will make me drop Cech for Caballero. If not I would have played Cech instead.

      • @Bryte1 I have Monreal. So maybe Caballero will be a safer option. I dont have any city defenders

        • @joaomonteiro
So I guess we are both the same. But the problem for us is… City’s defense can’t be trusted and we can’t take that risk of putting 2 arsenal defenders in.

  5. *Hughes: “Marko Arnautovic is our main doubt – he has a bang on the elbow, but the other lads should be ok”.
*Klopp on Firmino: “No decision until now but he’s good. He’s not been part of team training yet but we will make a final decision tomorrow.”
*Pulis: “We’ve got a couple of knocks and bruises from the other day. The majority of them should be fine to travel to Swansea”.
*Wenger: “Oxlade-Chamberlain still not back. Koscielny will have a test today, Ramsey is alright.”

  6. GW 37 gave me arguably my best score in fpl – 153pts, thanks for Jesus and especially Kane.
For final gw of the season, please advice. 0 itb, 1ft. My worries are mainly for players of the clubs that have nothing to play for, what do you advice I do even if it includes taking hits?

  7. The DGW didn’t go altogether to plan…and now i have a Bench Boost with 3 players injured. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Trying to jag 3rd place in the League for promotion.

Was tossing up Sanchez and Vardy for Coutinho and Kane for -4pt hit.
