Rate My Fantasy Football Team Machine

Rate my Fantasy Premier League team for game week 8

Here to help. Post your team and get good constructive feedback on your selections. We will share our thoughts and concerns to help each other build better teams and hopefully win our respective mini-leagues.

How does it work?

Tell us your first 11, bench, cash in the bank and captain as we’ll take a look. We might tell you there is too much money sitting in the bank. We might question if you have the right striker or goalkeeper. We will point out obvious errors like it is rarely a good idea to have a defender as captain. For sure you will be told about the absence of a ‘star’ player and the captain de-jour.

Option 1: Post your team using the Rate My Team Adviser’s algorithm

Based on published research, and capable of machine learning, our powerful Automated Adviser is a proven FPL analytics tool. Our Points Prediction engine takes into account new signings, formation changes, manager changes, and many other factors.

However, Fantasy Football First’s uniqueness is that as well as the excellent analytics engine, we have experienced FPL managers who’s opinion you can canvas. Data and experts – a powerful winning combination. Check if your team is ready and import your FPL team. Enter your FPL Team Code and import your team direct from the FPL site!

Option 2: Write your team in a comment

Post the players you select in the formation you want to play them, and separately list your subs., transfers and remaining cash in the bank. For example:

Please rate my team:

Stones, Bailly, Mee
Alli, Willian, David Silva, Carroll
Lukaku, Benteke, Jesus
Defoe, Lukaku, Kane
Subs: Elliot, Evans, Stephens and Iwobi.

Captain: Lukaku and Vice is Jesus.
Money in the bank: £0.2m
Planned transfers: Willian -> Phillips so I have cash to upgrade Jesus to Kane next week

Link your team

Linking your team means anyone can click on your profile image and see your team. This helps because the reviewer can see your transfer history and get a sense of your overall strategy. After all, we don’t want to suggest a player you have just sold.

To link your team

1. get the url of your team from fantasy.premierleague.com. To do this open the game and click on POINTS. In the “Game Week Points” section you will see “View Gameweek history”. Open the Gameweek history page. Copy this URL.

2. Click “Profile” in the footer of the site. This will open your profile page.

The website field is in yellow on the image above.

3. copy the url into the Website field on your profile page and save.

  1. Hi guys, been working like a madman and tmrw flying ALL THROUGHOUT the games :headbang: so unfortunately no time for the usual research, advice or banter  Quick tips for my team greatly appreciated, 0FT left (did Morata to Jesus what feels like 2 years ago) and 2.4 ITB. May not be able to thank you until tmrw so please don’t think I’m an ungreatful git :lolflag:

    • @VanDan

I think the Huddersfield bubble has burst – they have scored just 1 goal in the past 5 games + their fixtures curdle after this GW.
So depending on how jet-lagged you are, you could either do –

      1. Mooy to Sterling
      2. Mooy to Pedro (his game time does concern me though)
      3. Stick with your current team to avoid a 4pt hit, but look to swap him out next week
      4. Dawson looks like dropping in price, but you will probably be several thousand feet in the air and unable to take any action until it is too late

    • @VanDan gtg for the week, but that midfield needs some work in the coming weeks!

Happy flying. May your stopovers be filled with goal updates and fpl point notifications.

  2. Hi, would appreciate some feedback on my team. I’ve wildcarded, have 0.9 in the bank.
I originally had gone for Lazacette and Vardy, but switched back to Lukaku and Wood as Lukaku has such high ownership.
I am also questioning my sudden liking for 5-2-3! I wish I hadn;t wildcarded now – too many decisions to make…

    • @bobbyd Can you afford Walker instead of Stones? Mop Head is not game time assured, so I would swap him out while you are on your WC.

An interesting team with loads of potential. Best of luck, but I think you won’t need it

      • @ChorleyRocks and @SecretZorro
Thanks for those ideas! I can afford the switch if I do Fellaini to Carroll. But if I do that, then I could afford Valencia instead of Walker. Any thoughts on that?

        • @bobbyd United have tough fixtures coming, but then so do Spurs and you have Davis.

I prefer to find budget players who I can leave in for at least 10 weeks and not worry about them – this is why I am keen on finding rotating options.

This means that each week I can focus on swapping premium players to take advantage of fixtures.

So given this, perhaps avoid Davis and Valencia and choose two other premium players, and bring Davis in for GW13 and Valencia in for GW12

  3. I have a Dilemma. I have already made my transfers. Here is My Team
    Lascelles Bailly Davis
    Couthino David-Silva Hazard Mkitharyan Gros
    Jesus Vardy

    Subs: Elliott Lowe Abraham Mbemba
Should I keep 2 in front or take Gros out of midfield and have Abraham in a 3 men attack? Who will have more chance of scoring more points in GW8? Gros or Abraham?

    • @FrenchyGunner

      Difficult to know.
Swansea could sneak a 1-0 win, and if Abraham scores, then you guess correctly.
Brighton v Everton could end up goalless, which means 3 points for Groß.

Abraham has had 10 shots, 2 goals and 0 assists.
Groß has had 5 shots, 2 goals and 2 assists.

Stats say Groß. My gut feeling says Abraham. Maybe flip a coin

  4. Please RMT, I had the wildcard activated. i know it looks kinda weird but your feedback would be very much appreciated. 1M itb.

    some thoughts:

    – salah or hazard? or anyone else? im not sure about that
    – richarlison and choupo moting as rotation
    – i think i wanna stick with kane/lukaku at the front. i was considering Jesus also but you can never know and Aguero is back – a bit early?!

  5. Hi esteemed FPL lords.
After debating whether to hold onto it longer I’ve WC’d. Here are the results.
Batshu of course a short term gamble. Long plan is to get Morata or Aguero back in. 0.7 ITB currently.
    Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

    • @nickpread I’ve got a similar team except I can’t get rid of the feeling that Jones/Man Utd might let in a few with the fixtures they’ve got, so for now, I’ve gone with Yoshida instead of Jones and Atsu instead of Davis, but I’ve held the extra .2 IDB in case I change my mind :)

  6. Hi guys,
Used my WC and would appreciate any input.
Want Chelsea and City cover due to good fixtures.

    Courtois – Elliot
    Otamendi – Lascelles – Ward – Löwe – Hünemeier
    Hazard – Couthino – Sterling – Carroll – Gross
    Lukaku – Kane – Abraham

    0,2 ITB.

    • @tborven Really insisting on Courtois? If you rotate well and scoring continues as it has, with a budget 4.5 (pope for example) you could well make (if not better) what he has so far but with 1.0m in the bank, if you’re backing Chelsea defence, maybe look at what the extra 1.2m could buy you? Azpi for example?

        • @tborven I think the team is pretty well balanced overall and a little bit ‘tit for tat’ if you like.

Short term, Courtois probably will get you points as the Chelski fixtures look good and make up for your Chelsea defenders, but you also have to think longer term, will you miss that extra 1.0m and have to use a FT one week or take a -4 hit on Courtois to afford a player further up the pitch? It becomes a little bit mystic meg :)

  7. Tinkering about, considering this as my WC team… Potentially with the planning of switching Lukaku & Silva -> Aguero & Coutinho (or downgrade Hazard and take out Vardy).
    RMT? Any tips/thoughts?

    • @Goldilocks

If Mbemba doesn’t play, then your defence turns to sticky porridge in GW9.

Assuming you have no funds, I would downgrade DDG to Fabianski to free up 1M.
Monreal to Jones and Mbemba to Maguire gives you 5 playing defenders, and rotation up to GW16 (with the exception of GW12)
