Will the defensive minded Mourinho blunt Sanchez attacking prowess?
Will the absent minded Wenger blunt Mkhitaryan?

        • @IvanTheTerrible

It was inevitable that Sanchez would go, whilst Arsenal could still get a fee for him. Slightly more puzzling was letting Walcott go, given Ramsey’s injury history, and Cazorla still out.
What used to be an excellent midfield now looks threadbare.

Still, we know that Arsene usually does his business 10 minutes before the transfer window closes.

They always get it wrong. Fresh example is Lacazette. I haven’t had any players from this team for ages and I am happy.

I went with Kolasinac at the start of the season, but he isn’t even getting picked now!

Teams to avoid – Arsenal, Stoke plus Newcastle because of their owners dithering.

        • @OldGoat
I remember, at the start Kola and Laca almost became a template. It was all fake news.

    • @bees393 Pool today is missing Coutinho…they always struggle against teams defending deep and Coutinho used to be someone who could break it.
Firmino hit the post…my bad luck.

      • @GoalMachine – Loved the last minute…can only imagine how the SWA fans in the stands felt!
Much looking forward to watching Cout at Barca, hopefully on Thur in the cup.

      • @GoalMachine I came in literally to hear that Lallana contrived to miss a clear chance at the end. I then heard the score was 1-0.

Oh well. Shades of irony in the template team, much discussed last week, didn’t do a lot this.

        • @Kralin2 I wanted Firmino to score and Salah to blank to salvage some lost ground from Kun’s 34 pts…but 1/2 of it happened.
Salah is owned by eveyone, so other than the one who (C) him, not much damage happened.

        • @GoalMachine yes, that’s right. Despite it being a poor week for points, for me anyway, the damage has been very limited.

Will be curious to see though if the Kane to Kun thing takes off.

        • @Kralin2 Yes, Lallanas shot cleared practically off the line. And seconds before that Firmino headed against the inside of the post.

        • @Kumast oh well, oh well. I need some soothing ECM music to calm my soul.

On the old fantasy side, 47 and out for me this week. In the general scheme of things not too bad. Did you do the double Chelsea defence, in the end?

        • @Kralin2 Certainly did and it paid off with a double clean sheet. Not sure how tenable it is long term though. Things already changing quickly with new signings, new-found form, etc. Let´s see. Can I suggest Making Music by Zakir Hussain? Or maybe some Thomas Demenga if you fancy taking the New Series route. 59 for me.

        • @Kumast thanks for the tips. Had settled into Solstice by Ralph Towner, but may stream one of those later.

59’s pretty good and ahead of the average I think.

        • @Kumast aha, good move. I flirted briefly with the idea but Salah’s consistency won out in the end. Has a grim chuckle. Jones was my superstar this week.

        • @Kralin2 Yes, Jones owner here too. If not for that moment of defensive immaturity from City I would have a had a clean sweep from my four defenders this week.

        • @Kumast I’ll get a red but still remain in the top 10k, very narrowly.

The 5-3-2 cheekily overtook me – I feel like giving it 50 transfers and consigning it to 1 million OR.

Maybe that explains that loopy side you posted the other day: the manager just uses it to rage transfer players rather than doing it to their main side.

        • @Kumast you can imagine them muttering get out of my side, you useless f*** so and so then buying them back and doing it again, and again, until their rage is spent.

    • @bees393 hmm, just got in to the terrific news. Tell me why I don’t like Mondays.

Oh well, yes, a nice night for Swansea and indeed Mosc, who had Fab in goal I think and so beats me quite comfortably in the H2H.

        • @bees393 it matters not a jot in the grand scheme of things, really. We can’t have every GW going to perfection. That would be boring anyway. Weeks like this make the good weeks even sweeter.

And in some ways quite handy as well. A few managers will abandon the template this week with a few rash transfers etc.

        • @Kralin2 – every week going to perfection? I am waiting to have one week doing that lol!
At least I did not take a hit. Several in my mini league had Aguero as cpt…so I am in the dumps.
But…I am counting down to the WC this year…very exciting.

        • @bees393 I got away with nobody close to me captaining Kun, so have retained a strong lead. This has been my worse week for a while and first red arrow for ages, but as ever am philosophical about it all. A Salah goal would have been nice though.

  2. Definitely doing Ali – > Mahrez switch.

Defence trying to find a replacement for Obanna (upgrade to a 5.5mil – 5.7mil defender) or just keep him for another week if i find no one.
